Clinical Care Assistant

Clinical Care Mobile App, MAX (based on Oracle Digital Assistants)

MAX is designed to assist in a variety of clinical care scenarios like medical documentation management, patient encounters (ambient recording & tele-health) and patient care planning (suggestions & patient follow-ups).
MAX's mobile app voice-commands are extensive with an emphasis on dictation and documentation. In this example, a physician is updating medical records through voice.
The MAX mobile app integrates seamlessly and securely with other healthcare products. This example shows voice commands sending messages and managing patient communication.
MAX's work-flows can be task-based (direct commands) or conversation-based (type or voice chat) for expediting updates, and fulfilling requests. These examples show a physician making quick adjustments to a prescription request through voice and touch-based workflows. MAX leverages AI, medical LLM's and salient database medical records to understand context and accomplish tasks & requests and provide optional suggestions.
MAX also has a desktop version that has additional features and capabilities that integrates more closely with desktop products/services and can leverage proprietary or local hardware like dedicated mics, or room-based equipment such as monitors and medical equipment.
The user experience and product documentation for MAX is extensive and was used by development teams (application, backend, security/privacy teams, service integrations and research teams and scientist groups), product teams, copy writers and probably a bunch of attorneys. Everyone worked together to bring a great experience together.

Overview

I led the design of MAX, an innovative AI-powered clinical digital assistant for healthcare professionals. MAX seamlessly integrates with electronic health record systems, reducing cognitive burdens by streamlining workflows and providing real-time recommendations. As the Principal UX designer, I crafted a user-friendly experience across platforms, utilizing Oracle's Redwood Design System for consistency.
