Warehouse Inventory Pick App

Some core screens for V-Pack. The devices were typically stowed away in a belt, and V-Pack experience was tailored for hands-free and voice operated experience. The screens could be read out to a user at any time by the app and a user can navigate and command with voice alone. The visual feedback on screen is primarily used to verify information, accuracy, or enable a user to use touch for more efficient interactions (like to see maps of a facility).

Workers here are following prompts being read out by V-Pack to fulfill an order. They then speak a confirmation phrase into the mic which makes V-Pack move on to the next task - like placing an item into a bin or package. Sensors and location tags allow V-Pack to communicate with warehouse management services to route items and update worker tasks in real-time.
A user can quickly pull up a list of contextual commands for a current task or speak a help question to the device for assistance. The responses were connected to a server running a chatbot connected to an FAQ and manual.
Thematics Warehouse Operations Services (TiQ) new design framework from the desktop/control booth applications was implemented into the V-Pack product.

V-Pack helps workers improve order fulfillment accuracy and allow for integrated quality checking - if something is incorrect or missing, it's easy for a user to note the problem, and move on to another task all with voice commands.

Warehouse Inventory Pick App (V-Pack)

A logistics company that rhymes with "thematic"

Overview

"Rhymes with thematic" is a global material handling, logistics automation and software company whose products scale to small, medium and large companies with modular mechatronics infrastructure. As the lead User Experience Architect and Product Designer for Thematic's Warehouse Inventory Pick App (V-Pack), I played a pivotal role in redesigning the application to ensure seamless integration with a new design system and enhance overall features for improved productivity and scalability. V-Pack, a critical component in warehouse logistics, facilitates efficient goods-to-person picking on custom Android devices (Zebra), leveraging Thematic's modular mechatronics infrastructure.

Key Contributions

Impact
